Giving Thanks for Jennifer Grey

Thanks for putting the mirror ball trophy in your daughter’s room—instead of Sarah Palin’s daughter’s room.

Thanks for demonstrating that drama queens can be adorable— and not just annoying.

Thanks for changing what it means to “go grey.”

Thanks for proving Jewish women can be hot to and trot.

Thanks for personifying resilience.

Thanks to you and Jamie Lee Curtis for showing without words how girlfriends support each other.

Thanks for restoring my faith in the American voting public.

Wasn’ t this year fun? Delighted that Jennifer Grey vanquished the Palin “machine”. In all fairness, Bristol improved dramatically and had a great finish and she probably shouldn’t be punished for who her mother is but the contest wasn’t even close. Kyle was also great, but he’s no Jennifer Grey.

And best of all, Jennifer Grey’s win allowed me to find this on YouTube and revisit the past. Lest we forget:

All time great dance sequence. And wouldn’t it be great if somebody made a full length movie of clips of all the best dances from all movies? Great for girlfriends’ night.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

Once last comment I can’t resist. “Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner”

I hope two years down the road those voting in the presidential elections are equally as sensible.

Definitely was a great season and very controversial; although I really wonder who made up the Palin “machine” and if people were just touched by Bristol herself. I didn’t think she belonged in the finals but could definitely see why people identified with her no matter who her mom is. Kyle is a bundle of sheer joy; but still there could have been no other winner this time. People who don’t watch the show are always surprised that I take it so seriously….

Thanks for posting the clip. After watching scenes like this lately, now I really need to watch the entire movie; haven’t seen it in ages! Meanwhile I love your idea of putting together dances from the movies–would make a great feature. Hasn’t someone ever done that?

Me too. Sometimes it’s really hard to figure out the American electorate — but regarding that vote two years from now , I sure hope the name Palin isn’t on the ballot.
