Sometimes that truth brings surprises. You think you know yourself, or someone else. But you don’t know how anyone will react until it happens.
Looking back, I don’t think cancer was my finest hour. I don’t think it brought out the best in me as a human being. But I’ve seen that happen in other people. I’m seeing it now. In private and in public.
In private, I’m inspired by a struggle which has brought out surprising courage and character. And in public— the world is watching the struggle of Farrah Fawcett, fighting and fading before our eyes. Her life is iconic—-and now, ironic. As the poster girl for glamour becomes the poster girl for grace.
