the hand off

Paul’s bike ride across Iowa is a tough act to follow.  I really enjoyed being able to participate in this adventure across the American heartland.  And while sampling 25 pies tempted me at times, most of the week I was grateful that my butt  remained in a comfortable chair and not on a 2- inch wide bicycle seat.

While Paul was far beyond his comfort zone, I was also stepping away from mine— entering the mixture of the real and the cyber worlds  at the BlogHer conference for the past few days.

The universe couldn’t have planned it  better.   BlogHer and Paul’s biking adventure both ended in the same place at the same time; Saturday night in Chicago.

Plus  my son Daniel, sister Carla and niece Leah are all in town tonight—giving us a rare mini–family reunion—where Paul and I could compare notes and  personally pass the blogging baton.

Though whenever Paul and I get together, it’s always more appropriate to say  “pass the fork.”

It was fun to meet you at the SV Moms party, if only in passing. I hope you had a great conference and I’d love to hear your favorite tidbits.

I enjoyed the ride and I will now enjoy Darryle’s blog again. Glad to see all of you together for a mini family gathering.

I thought of Paul as I traveled through Estes Park today. My family lunched at a wonderful little Mexican restaurant and next door can you believe there was a Pie Shop??? Strictly pies. A whole pie for $14 and by the slice nearly $4. There were many flavors. I shared an apple cherry slice with my son. Delicious. We sat behind the shop eating our pie along the banks of a river. I’m usually not a dessert kind of girl but after reading the blogs tempting me so… I endulged. Thanks P!

Susan–great meeting you at the party, too, such fun when cyber people come to life!! Will definitely be writing about BlogHer this week as soon as I catch my breath.
Gail–thanks, funny to be back home on the blog but gone from home in real life.
Stacy–glad Paul inspired you to try some pie. He claims he won’t eat another one for a LONG time!! (I give him a week or 10 days, tops)
