Just to prove I don’t exaggerate

img029I always tell people that Peppy is a REALLY unusual cat.  I’m not sure they believe me.   After this I think they will.

Daniel and I picked her out specially because we thought she was the meekest kitten in the shelter.

We never used the word “meek” again;  she dominated our adult male cat from day one—still, he adored her.

Same with humans.   She was so feisty, everyone but Daniel was afraid of her.  I wouldn’t touch her for years.

We all grew to adore her–and now she dominates us, too.

Meanwhile, she does some very un-catlike things.

img_55602She drinks out of glasses.

Sits on the printer WHILE it’s printing.

Stretches out by the net on the ping pong table WHILE we’re playing–even when the ball hits her.

And when’s the last time you saw a cat do this?

She isn’t just sitting; she’s PEEING.

I’ve witnessed this before—but I never managed to get the camera in time to capture visual evidence.

I think she was waiting  for me to hand her some toilet paper.

We had a cat called Fern who also peed in the loo. My mother once found herself in an airport queue with Judy Collins and the two of them had a long chat about this, because she (my mother) overheard Judy wishing she could convince her cat to do that.

You can’t train cats. But some are really, really smart.

I always thought Fern was the only one…

So if Peppy is smart enough to use the toilet—now I’d like her to learn how to flush.

We used to have a cat that did this! Unfortunately, our current family cat doesn’t.
    Your cat is gorgeous!

@duchess – “You can’t train cats. But some are really, really smart.”

This doesn’t stop millions of people a day from trying to teach even the stupidest of cats to do things
