You've got a friend

I’m  sure my husband could arrange a one- week golf trip for 6 men— with maybe 6 emails.

Whereas arranging one evening with 6 women— involved maybe 600 emails.

Sometimes nothing is easy….and last night was one of those times…. ….with so many hassles that 2 hours before lift-off, it seemed easier to cancel the mission.

It included a last- minute scramble of plans…..a last minute-trip to the carwash and the car dealer…..and a bizarre ticket exchange that felt like a drug deal, outside the door of the Oakland Arena meeting a mysterious stranger wearing pajama bottoms….

But sometimes—- you get what you signed up for….

And this was one of those rare times— when the event is even better than the hype.

Being surrounded by friends, close enough to take this shot of Carole King and James Taylor singing “You’ve Got a Friend”….at the next-to-last show on their Troubadour Reunion tour.

At one point a man yelled to Carole from the top rows:  “You’ve never been better!”

I couldn’t agree more.

They were both amazing. Pretty sure everyone I know either saw them—or really wishes they did.

Good God, Woman, it took you 600 emails? You’ve got the Wrong friends… I’d have been there in a shot.

Hi Darryle. Oh, how fun! A special friend was going to take me to this concert, but neither of us was available on the only night CK and JT were performing together in Oakland. Glad to know you were there and that these dear musical friends were so fabulous!

I didn’t have to twist arms; more like pulling teeth to make arrangements.
But if you want, next time I’ll let you know—all you have to do is be willing to fly over from England….

So glad to hear from you, and so sorry u missed it. They were fantastic–and it was such a successful tour, I’m hoping they’re already starting to plan another one. Meanwhile, get the CD; it will make you happy—and nostalgic.
