It’s like any other day. And that’s the problem.
No excitement. No carving pumpkins. No parties. No trick or treating. No costumes.
No more making memories.
I miss it. And what I miss most—- those little plastic pumpkins that come home filled up and I get to steal sort the kids’ candy.
Boo-hoo. And Happy Halloween to you!

I hear you!
With my kids grown, it’s the one day a year I wish I lived in the middle of town…
I know! I used to love Halloween when the kids were little!
Boo-hoo for all of us. We don’t get trick-or-treaters where we live —so the only good thing about Halloween these days is that you don’t feel embarrassed buying huge bags of chocolate.
My family is ridiculous about Halloween. Each year we do a theme. This year, with 2 high school seniors and two middle schoolers and a crazy fall preparing for a bar mitzvah, I decided they were on their own. But no, Mama, this is our last year all together for the THEME. So, I stayed up till 3 a.m. for days sewing our costumes (Spies, secret agents and detectives theme). It took me so long because I was crying through most of it realizing that it would probably be our last time. Here are some of our past themes:

That’s fantastic! As you can see I liked dressing up, too, and wasn’t as good behind the scenes. So I can’t decide what’s more amazing—your sewing and creative abilities—or that you got all four kids to agree on a theme.
