Don’t come too close

You know that feeling when you feel so sick you can’t remember how it felt to feel normal and your whole head hurts like someone’s pressing on it from the inside…and you aren’t sure your neck can hold it up….and you drag yourself out of bed and look in the mirror and if your throat didn’t hurt so much, you would actually scream and call 911— just from the sight of your own face?

I hardly ever feel like that.  But I do now.

Plus it’s terrible timing for me to be sick.  When people say that I always wonder when would be a GOOD time to be sick.   And I also wonder—Is a patient called a patient because they want you to be patient?

I’m not.  I discovered during cancer treatment— I’m a terrible patient.   When I’m sick, you don’t want to be in my space—-not even my cyberspace.

    Oh, so sorry you’re sick.
But I’m a nurse and “difficult” patients are the best cuz they fight to get better faster.
    Feel better!

I sure hope it isn’t the swine flu. Have you taken your temperature? If it’s above 102.4 you might want to see the doctor. Let me know if you want to drop something at your door.
