Dear world,
I know you’re probably still out there spinning as usual, Although being powerless and out of internet contact, I have no concrete evidence.
I am using the last gasps of power on my Blackberry to send out this message in a desperate effort to communicate with the outside.
If the power doesn’t go on by tomorrow, please send chocolate.

OH no, there are some things even chocolate can’t fix…

After your post yesterday about technology, how ironic that you would be without power for a day…I am sure you are back up and running by now. You probably had a lovely, quiet day, but since you lost power in your area, I am sure there were a lot of people who were experiencing major withdrawal from their twittering, tweeting and facebooking!

Sitting by a roaring fire reading a novel by candlelight sounds wonderful ..but bears no resemblance to my reality which was getting drenched and whipped by gale force winds while trying to protect with plastic sheeting some stuff in storage here that got unexpectedly exposed to the elements. Still it’s all an adventure although today we have power but no phones,TV or internet. I’m happy and grateful just to be here…and to own a Blackberry.
And by the way Maureen, enough chocolate could fix all of this!

we got back from the deYoung and found our neighborhood eerily dark. after getting into the house we realized we had no power. yippee! whip out the candles. get those flashlights.
and then the electricity returned. we were without power for less than 10 minutes. today we learned there are 19,000 PG&E customers that continue to be without power. are you?

Still status quo; we have power but without Comcast (internet, TV, phones) we’re still disconnected.
