I don’t mean the rain we had for a few days in Buenos Aires. I mean this:
I never heard of Iguazu until recently; it’s no wonder the Indians chose a word meaning “Big Waters” for the area at the juncture of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay— miles of falls in a tropical jungle that dwarfs Niagara and anything I’ve ever seen.
Maybe the simplicity of “Big Waters” captures the magnitude– and majesty– of Iguazu Falls…since no words, no pictures could begin to approach the power of this place; or the power of nature itself.
“Big Waters” are equally magical on land—fantastic flora, butterflies everywhere; a myriad of rainbows.
While we were there, we added our votes to select Iguazu as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. If Iguazu Falls doesn’t belong on the list, I don’t know what does.
