My younger sister got married and had kids way before I did. We didn’t live in the same city, but I happened to be in town visiting when their first child had her hair cut. Rachel was around 2, and she sat in the chair and sobbed. I found it so painful to watch her sobbing that I started crying, too. And I begged my sister to stop the haircut and just go home.
The other day I had a similar experience with my own daughter.
I’ve watched many, many haircuts since Rachel’s.
This one was for a good cause.
Alli donated 12 inches of her gorgeous long hair to Locks of Love.
At least no one cried this time.
But I still found it hard to watch.

My niece has done Locks of Love once or twice. It’s a great idea.

As a veteran of chemo, I think it’s a great idea, too. And I’m donating next—just a few more inches to go.
