Tonight I went to a party at a friend’s home, to celebrate and share in something new—-called a spirit nest. Though I want to share this experience as I normally would, I’m pretty sure I can’t.
Not only because it’s late….and I had too much wine…but because this spirit nest is a magical place—- made by a Big Sur artist entirely out of eucalyptus branches —large enough for 8 people to relax in comfort—open to the air and the sky—-somewhere between a treehouse and a womb—-that filled me with a feeling of serenity I can’t fully explain or describe.
I don’t have the words. Fortunately I do have the pictures. (and a link for more information)
I spent several hours hogging the space inside the nest and had to be dragged out to go home—-because I already felt as if I WAS home.

Every now and then I take time out to read your blog. UnfortunaTELY I can’t keep up with all of them because I’m living “my life” but EVERY TIME I catch a glimpse of yours, I swear, DArryle, I laugh out loud. Especially at the parts you cross out. Too, too funny. Just wanted you to know you always put a smile on my face!

Only in California……I wouldn’t expect anything less!!!

Drop by Treebones by Gorda on the South Coast sometime and check out the “Bird’s Nest” — http://www.treebonesresort.com — at how many resorts can you stay in a yurt, tent, or nest?

Thank u! Glad you are keeping up–even sporadically. If I was really living “my life” I wouldn’t have time to hang out in spirit nests.

This could NOT be more California. POssibly the best thing ever to come out of Big Sur—ever.

Thank you. Very glad you let me know. I asked my friend last night about staying overnight sometime—but I don’t think there are any plans to open this “resort” to the public. Treebones looks wonderful as a real option.
