Visiting New York City is a creative jolt. Not just walking around the city pulsating with energy —it’s also the center of the creative universe—creativity of all kinds.
Between what to see— on stage, on the street, in museums and galleries—not to mention what to eat— being in New York always brings inspiration.
On my last couple trips, instead of being just an observer, I’ve had the opportunity to help bring out the creativity in others.
The cancer patients staying at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge enjoyed the mosaic workshop I held on my last trip—and no one enjoyed it more than me. So I did another one.
Helping their creativity emerge feels like my own tiny contribution to the creative spirit of New York City.
And I left a cartload of mosaic supplies with Courtney, a Hope Lodge volunteer— I’m so sure I’ll be back.
