Burning calories…and more

I want to apologize in advance for joking about something that isn’t funny.

My son was hounding me for months to take better care of my health; and if you’ve followed my posts on Choose You,  you know I’ve been trying.  Less chocolate.   Less stress.   More exercise.

I could be the last person on the planet who hasn’t tried Zumba;  and a few weeks ago I officially vowed to go.

Who knew the universe would conspire against me by cancelling the class?

I figured it could be a sign; but I gave Zumba another chance a few weeks later,  when my friend  invited me to come to a class at the fitness club where she belongs.

This time  I actually went.  And I actually liked it.

So a few days ago I  went back again— by myself— to consider joining her gym.   Got all the information and membership forms; and while I was there,  I took my second Zumba class.

I knew Daniel would be glad that he managed to light a fire under me.

Only then the universe did it for real.

I took that Zumba class Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m.   12 hours later the gym burned down.

And Moses only got a burning bush.

As a huge believer in omens, I strongly suggest another form of activity. Also, you might want to verify when you first started thinking about Zumba, and then compare that date to the date your bathrooms started acting up. There are no coincidences!

Being a big believer in omens, I like your thinking. Now I”m starting to think there’s a connection back when I said I would eat less chocolate….

Whoa! That would be the perfect excuse to quit though. Hmmmm. Now I will have to look up Zumba.

I bet you’ll like Zumba–I did—only now am not sure I want to go against a sign from the universe—not to mention a law of nature—i.e. “A body at rest will stay at rest….”

Good for you losing 10 pounds. Unfortunately 2 classes weren’t enough to drop 10 pounds—or to get totally hooked….yet.
WAs fun running into you there!

I’ve been thinking about Zumba classes…..I saw a class at the YMCA fair and I like the music and exercises. I love music and that’s what caught my attention, I’m not a dancer so that’s my excuse for not running up and signing up. At 54 and “allowing” myself to grow stagnate, I need to start the blood flowing once again. I use to bike ride and hike with my honey…what happen! I promised myself I will start walking tonight with my daughter…that is step 1. Thanks for the nudge…:-)

Your promise with your daughter is a great step one—and when you’re ready for step two, Zumba will definitely get the blood flowing. No one in the class I took was a real “dancer”; I think the main qualification is to be willing to move your body— and not care how you look doing it.
