A celebration of cleavage

It popped up on the calendar today, and I’m pumped up.   Just in case you’re behind the curve on boobs, and you thought October is the only month that targets breast awareness…..Today is National Cleavage Day.   I’ll spare you my humor, it would only fall flat.

Lady Gaga is involved.  And so am I— I even honored Cleavage Day last year.

And it turns out I’m not the only one without cleavage who’s making a fuss over it.

Abercrombie and Fitch created a firestorm by advertising push-up padded bikini tops targeted to 7 and 8 year olds.   It’s scary to think girls are aware of cup size when they’re barely out of sippy cups.

What’s a girl to do?  Where does it start?  Where does it end?   No surprise that  girls develop body image issues before they develop breasts.

Anyway, all the flap gave me an idea for how everyone can participate on National Cleavage Day—whether you have some or not.

And National Cleavage Day is the perfect day for an uplift.

I wish every man would tell a special woman or girl in his life—and every woman or girl would look in the mirror and tell herself— You’re perfect, just the way you are. And truly believe it.

That would be worth celebrating.
