It’s a day for love…to the tune of an estimated $18 billion dollars. That’s a lot of hearts and flowers. (And a lot of chocolate.)
I never come close to spending the national average of $116 per person— but I’m still sentimental, and I want the people I love to know it. So if you don’t want to spend big but you love big, here’s what I’m doing for my husband:
10 Reasons I love you:
1. You make the coffee every morning—and bring me a cup when I wake up.
2. You love my children as if they’re your own.
3. You don’t snore and you don’t complain if I do.
4. You always let me pick the movie—even if it’s a chick flick.
5. You still thought I was sexy when I lost my breasts –and my hair.
6. You never complain if we eat takeout every night.
7. You’re willing to pick up takeout every night.
8. You listen. Even if you forget more than half of what I say.
9. You clean up the kitchen better and more often than I do.
10. You always read my blog so I know you’ll see this list. And I know you’ll remember I did the same post last year.
As for me— I don’t care what I get on Valentine’s Day– I feel loved every day. (Although a little chocolate would be nice.)
Happy Valentine’s Day to V–
And Happy Valentine’s Day to all.

Who is this “super” man. Can I clone him? Happy Valentine’s Day!

Yes, I do remember this post from last year. And it doesn’t diminish one bit how sweet it is to read your list again. As I recall, I commented my own “10 reasons I love you”. Here are a few new ones –
. In a year filled with more stress and heartbreak than usual ( for both of us ) you have been the one constant ray of sunshine in my life.
. You never lose your sense of humor.
. You are my patient guide around my blind spots.
. Amazingly, you also seem to cherish my perspective on many of your personal matters.
. You lavish almost as much attention on me as the cat ( now that’s saying a lot ).
. You are the kind of person who cherishes the card more than the present ( unless it’s chocolate )
. You don’t hide. You are unafraid to let everyone see you for exactly who you are.
. Every month or so you make me a home cooked meal ( well, maybe not quite that often, but they are always yummy and appreciated ).
. You make me proud.
. You definitely get better with age.
Happy Valentine’s my beautiful D
Your adoring V/

How could your husband not absolutely adore you? And from what I just read, he sounds pretty adorable himself. Now I want to have you both over! Well, whether or not we ever meet in person, I feel a heart connection with you….and your honesty, creativity and courage. With big hugs and gratitude to a true
Heart Goddess.

Haha; you’ll have to get on line behind a few of my friends. Happy Valentine’s Day, Denise!

You might have to start your own blog—your comments are more expressive and witty than my posts.
And this was the best Valentine—-(topped only by the chocolate). I’m beyond touched –although truthfully, we both know you (uncharacteristically ) exaggerated a little bit—I lavish FAR more attention on the cat—and so do you! haha Thank you for such a beautiful list–with all my love.

Wendi, thank you thank you—I feel the same connection and we will definitely meet—and SOON. And maybe I will bring V, too! Thank you again for all your creativity and warmth.

Oh so sweet Darryle and then to see your husband V’s comments and list of ten back to you was about the sweetest thing ever. It’s obvious you two are in love this 2012 Valentine’s Day.

So much sadness recently. It is good to remember there’s joy too.

Mine was a re-do; HIS was the sweetest thing ever. Haha. And we did have a loving and wonderful Valentine’s day–hope you did, too.

You’re right; and at times of sadness it’s even more important to remember and seek out all the joy you possibly can. Hope you have lots of joy in your life; and thanks so much, Duchess, for commenting.
